Ah, the holidays. It's the most wonderful time of the year — unless you don’t celebrate Christmas and your kids are old enough to understand that everyone else is getting visits from Santa  and presents under the tree.
UFA700
Ever since our now eight-year-old twins were babies, we have tried to make our holiday — Hanukkah — fun and enjoyable for them. As Jews, we light the
เว็บพนันบอลดีที่สุดpantip
candles on the menorah each night, exchange gifts and fry up some pretty amazing potato latkes to commemorate the small drop of oil for the menorah in the ancient temple that miraculously lasted eight days (or as Adam Sandler would say, eight crazy nights).
WEBWT
As cool as that sounds, it’s still hard to measure up against the over-the-top images of Christmas we’re bombarded with starting in October. From the
ข่าวบอลวันนี้
twinkling trees to the idea of bounding down the stairs to see what Santa brought, there’s no way Hanukkah can compete, nor should it. I’ve always been adamant that we not try to create a Jewish version of Christmas for our kids. (There's a reason there's a book called "There’s no such thing as a Chanukah bush, Sandy Goldstein"). What we can do is celebrate our own holiday for what it is and share that with our friends — even the ones who don’t celebrate it.

Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders late Thursday mocked former Vice President Joe Biden for accentuating a stutter in his response to a question at the sixth 2020 Democratic presidential debate.
UFA700
Toward the end of the debate in Los Angeles, Sanders mocked Biden on Twitter by caricaturing the stutter he used in responding to a question about whether, in the spirit of the holidays, there was a candidate on stage whom the others would ask for forgiveness or give a gift.
เว็บพนันบอลดีที่สุดpantip
"I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I hhhave absolutely no idea what Biden is talking about. #DemDebate," Sanders tweeted.

In his answer on stage, Biden said Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who had just emphasized her personal contact with thousands of voters when taking selfies with them on the campaign trail, was not the only person who snapped photos with voters.
WEBWT
The former vice president said he's done "thousands of them," adding that people often "lay out their problems," such as telling Biden — who lost his first wife and their infant daughter in a car accident nearly 50 years ago to the day and his eldest son to brain cancer in 2015 — about how they've lost a family member or asking him whether they're going to be OK.

Biden said that he and his wife, Jill Biden, have a list of people whom they call weekly or monthly.

"I tell them I'm here. I give them my private phone number. They keep in touch with me. A little kid who says, 'I, I, I, I, I can't talk. What do I do?'" said Biden, who has spoken recently about how he's dealt with a history of stuttering.

CHICAGO - Two gang members who were convicted in the 2015 execution-style revenge killing of a 9-year-old boy were sentenced to a combined 155 years in prison Wednesday.
UFA700
Dwright Boone-Doty, 25, and Corey Morgan, 31, were found guilty of first-degree murder by two separate juries in October for the slaying of Tyshawn Lee, the young son of a rival gang member whom the duo deliberately hunted down.

Boone-Doty, who was the gunman, was sentenced to 90 years in prison and Morgan, who hatched the revenge plot to kill the fourth grader, received 65 years behind bars.

"Where does this stop? Where does this mind-numbing, senseless violence stop? It stops with grandmas, mamas and innocent children trying to play at a public park," Judge Thaddeus L. Wilson said as he handed down the sentence, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "Grandmas, mamas, kids and all are not fair game, and they matter to us."

Prosecutors read aloud a victim statement written by Tyshawn's grandmother and great-grandmother in court as the two women wiped away tears, according to the newspaper.

"All Tyshawn wanted was to grow up and be loved. You murderers took that from him," the statement read. "The words 'in cold blood' does not do justice."

However, defense attorneys tried to shift the focus to the childhood of the two convicted men to extract leniency, the newspaper reported.

The sister of Boone-Doty described him as a "troubled" yet "helpful, protective brother" who came from an "impoverished childhood." He was like Tyshawn and loved basketball but turned to the streets after his grandfather, who raised him, passed away.

Morgan also had a difficult past, his attorneys said. While he was raised by a loving mother, his father was a crack addict who once stole his Christmas presents from under the tree.

The teen faces charges of second-degree murder, robbery and a weapons-related charge, the officials said. His specific role in the death was not immediately clear. The juvenile was apprehended at about 11 p.m. Thursday, and as of Friday was not being charged as an adult. Investigators are seeking two other people whom they believe had a role in the attack.

Morris Marsh, 17, who is accused in the April 8 slaying of a 19-year-old man, was apprehended after a police chase Friday, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said.

Marsh was a passenger in a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by his brother when he was apprehended around 9 p.m., police said. The pursuit ended at a gas station where Marsh's mother was waiting, and both family members were also arrested, according to the department.

Decorrius Wright, 16, who is accused of murder, and Calvin Howse, 15, who is charged in an auto theft and gun possession case, were arrested in Madison, Tennessee, on Dec. 3, police said.

As South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s support rises in the Democratic primary polls in key early states like Iowa, is his sexual identity turning off some black voters? That was a storyline which took hold last week, and was subsequently pushed back against by two prominent columnists in The New York Times and The Washington Post. The รูเล็ตฟรี
ไฮโลฟรี underlying subtext of both sides of this debate is identity — black, gay and every intersectional identity in between. Into this landscape enters a fascinating new book with a heterodox way of looking at race: “Self Portrait in Black and White: Unlearning Race” by Thomas Chatterton Williams, a contributing writer at The New York Times Magazine and a visiting fellow at Bard College’s Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities. It’s a personal story, but also a story of America — its history, its present and its future. As the title suggests, Williams has a simple but loaded suggestion: de-emphasize race, and we’ll make progress ข่าวฟุตบอลวันนี้ as a culture. “If we are ever to progress, we must first slough off these old skins we’ve been forced to don,” he writes. Williams, who speaks of his own racial identity throughout the book (a black father and a white mother) says a de-emphasis on race will lead to de-escalation of the increasingly overheated political and cultural environment in America. “Everybody needs to step back and deescalate our investment in these abstractions and try to find the transcendent humanism that connects us, and the universal values and the national values,” he told me in a recent interview.

General Discussion / Melania Trump booed at 'Be Best' event in Baltimore

First lady Melania Trump was greeted with a loud chorus of boos Tuesday while giving a speech to a crowd of young students in Baltimore as part of her "Be Best" campaign.

Trump spoke for about five minutes before hundreds of middle and high school children at the UMBC Event Center in Baltimore and warned them about the dangers of opioid addiction.

"I hope that the knowledge you gain here will help you tackle the tough decisions you may be faced with, so that you can live a healthy and drug-free life," she told the students, many of whom were speaking loudly throughout her remarks in a city her husband, President Donald Trump, has derided as "a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess."

"Get involved and be a part of the solution," the first lady urged the students.

When she first took the stage, she was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos, but the boos appeared to be much louder and longer-lasting than the cheers.

She closed her speech by wishing the crowd a happy Thanksgiving. "Be safe. May God bless you, your families and the United States of America," she said to cheers and even more jeers.

A 29-year-old New Jersey man who had been named a person of interest in the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend died by suicide, prosecutors said.

John Ozbilgen was found dead by his parents at their Freehold Township home on Friday morning, his attorney, Robert Honecker, told NBC News in a statement.

A medical examiner determined that he had taken his own life, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said in a tweet.

Ozbilgen was considered a person of interest in the disappearance of Stephanie Parze, it was revealed during a hearing earlier this week on a separate case involving child pornography. He allegedly had various images on his cellphone depicting acts of sexual violence on children, some as young as 2 years old, NBC New York reported.

General Discussion / Prosecutors seeking info on payments to Rudy Giuliani
« on: November 26, 2019, 05:10:12 am »
WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors in New York are seeking records of payments to Rudy Giuliani, U.S. President Donald Trump’s lawyer, as part of an active criminal investigation, according to a grand jury subpoena seen by Reuters.

The subpoena does not indicate that Giuliani is suspected of wrongdoing. But the crimes being investigated, it says, include money laundering, wire fraud, campaign finance violations, making false statements, obstruction of justice, and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). It requires disclosure of lobbying on behalf of foreign interests.

The subpoena requests that the recipient provide “all documents, including correspondence, with or related to Rudolph Giuliani, Giuliani Partners or any related person or entity,” referring to his consulting company. The subpoena also seeks all “documents related to any actual or potential payments, or agreements to or with Giuliani.”
สล็อตฟรี
The text of the subpoena has not been previously reported. The subpoena was shown to Reuters on condition that the recipient not be identified.

Giuliani’s lawyer Robert Costello said that he had not seen the subpoena, but if reports of the subpoena were correct that suggested “maybe they want to ask us questions.”

“Frankly all they have to do is pick up the phone. All this is character assassination,” Costello said, adding that he was not aware of an investigation by U.S. prosecutors into Giuliani, a former prosecutor and mayor of New York City.
ข่าวฟุตบอลวันนี้
The subpoena shows that prosecutors are examining payments to Giuliani as they investigate two of his associates, Florida businessmen Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who pleaded not guilty last month to charges that they illegally funneled money to election candidates.

Spokesman James Margolin for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan declined to comment. Parnas’ lawyer, Joseph Bondy, declined to comment. Todd Blanche, Fruman’s lawyer, was not immediately available for comment.

President Donald Trump lunched at the White House on Thursday with Sens. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, among others — breaking bread with a pair of Republicans who could go against him in a Senate impeachment trial.
บาคาร่าฟรี
"He had made some initial comments that related to the impeachment process, but it's nothing that I haven't heard on TV from him," Romney told reporters after the lunch. Prior to the meeting Romney had said he did not plan to "be speaking about the impeachment at all."
สล็อตฟรี
Romney also said that his recent back-and-forth with Trump did not come up. When reminded by a reporter that the president recently tweeted "he is a pompous 'ass' who has been fighting me from the beginning," Romney responded, “That's as accurate as it is irrelevant."

"It was a good meeting," Collins told reporters. Asked if she felt Trump was trying to butter her up prior to a potential Senate trial, Collins said, "I didn't get that sense."
ข่าวฟุตบอลวันนี้
Romney and Collins are two of only three Senate Republicans who declined to sign on as co-sponsors to a GOP resolution denouncing the House Democrats' impeachment inquiry, raising questions about how they would vote in a Senate trial to convict and remove Trump from office. The other Republican not to sign on is Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, another moderate vote who could break from the party.

Collins has said that it would be "inappropriate" for her "to reach conclusions about evidence or to comment on the proceedings in the House" because she will be expected to be essentially a juror once the Senate trial begins.

General Motors filed an explosive federal racketeering lawsuit on Wednesday, alleging crosstown rival Fiat Chrysler Automobiles spent years working with the United Automobile Workers labor union to undermine GM and cause "substantial" damages.
DEWABET
Under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act — also known as RICO — the largest of the Detroit Big Three could receive three times whatever damages it might be able to prove.

The allegations follow revelations that FCA executives had paid off a number of union representatives, including officials involved in contract bargaining. GM claims that the payoff came in the form of concessions that lowered production costs for the smaller automaker, in turn making GM less competitive.

The complaint alleges that former FCA head Sergio Marchionne, who passed away suddenly last year after complications from surgery, orchestrated the conspiracy.

President Donald Trump invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to come to Washington Wednesday to demonstrate his dealmaking prowess. Instead, the meeting is only going to further erode the already strained relations between the two countries. With Erdogan adept at speaking Trump’s language and the administration having no clear strategy for handling Turkey, the only deal Trump is going to get is a raw one.

Erdogan likely believes he can use this visit to persuade Trump to disregard mounting calls from Congress to hold Turkey accountable for its bad behavior.

The visit was announced just days after Trump’s infamous Oct. 6 phone call with Erdogan, after which the U.S. president declared he had pulled off a masterful piece of diplomacy by having Turkish troops replace American forces fighting the Islamic State militant group in Syria, a theater of war Trump had long wanted to leave. The White House visit was to be both a victory lap and an opportunity to rebuild a teetering relationship via this newly established goodwill.

In fact, though, Trump merely cleared the way for Turkey to pursue a long-sought goal that had been thwarted by Trump’s predecessors: to move into Syria to eradicate Syrian Kurdish militias, which were a key American partner in reining in ISIS but seen by Ankara as an extension of its arch-enemy, the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party. After widespread anger at Trump over the withdrawal and the Turkish invasion that it abetted — including from many in his own party — the Oval Office parley has now been recast as an opportunity to show that Trump is in control of the situation and can elicit positive results from Erdogan.

The changes in tone from Washington led Erdogan to vacillate on whether to come to Washington, claiming he was too offended by Trump’s subsequent letter and tweets berating him over his assault on Syria followed by a vote of censure and threat of sanctions in Congress. But in the end, Erdogan likely believes he can use this visit to persuade Trump to disregard mounting calls from Congress to hold Turkey accountable for its bad behavior.

Former national security adviser John Bolton derided President Donald Trump’s daughter and son-in-law during a private speech last week and suggested his former boss’ approach to U.S. policy on Turkey is motivated by personal or financial interests, several people who were present for the remarks told NBC News.

According to six people who were there, Bolton also questioned the merits of Trump applying his business acumen to foreign policy, saying such issues can’t be approached like the win-or-lose edict that drives real estate deals: When one deal doesn’t work, you move on to the next.

The description was part of a broader portrait Bolton outlined of a president who lacks an understanding of the interconnected nature of relationships in foreign policy and the need for consistency, these people said.

Bolton has kept a low public profile since he left the administration on Sept. 10, and efforts by Democrats to have him testify in the House impeachment inquiry into the president have stalled. But his pointed comments, at a private gathering last Wednesday at Morgan Stanley’s global investment event in Miami, painted a dark image of a president and his family whose potential personal gain is at the heart of decision-making, according to people who were present for his remarks.

Bolton served as Trump’s national security adviser for 17 months. The Ukraine scandal began to unfold about a week after his contentious departure. Trump said he’d fired him, though Bolton said he had resigned.

Multiple people who attended Bolton’s private speech in Miami did not recall him mentioning Ukraine but said he told attendees that he had kept a resignation letter in his desk for three months. Bolton declined to comment for this article.

Bolton is a potential linchpin witness in the inquiry into Trump’s efforts to elicit help from the Ukrainian government to investigate the family of former Vice President Joe Biden, given his central role in the White House during that time. The impeachment inquiry moves to public testimony this week.

Current and former administration officials have testified about Bolton’s strong opposition to the Ukraine pressure effort, which was led by Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and allegedly involved withholding military aid and a presidential meeting until the Ukrainian government publicly committed to investigations, including into 2016 U.S. election interference and a business associated with Biden's son Hunter.

Bolton’s lawyer teased his client's value last week in a letter to House Democrats that noted that the former national security adviser had been present for “many relevant meetings and conversations” on Ukraine, including some that have yet to be disclosed to investigators. His lawyer, Charles Cooper, said Bolton is willing to testify if a federal court approves it and issues a ruling that essentially says he can defy the White House’s position that he can’t speak to Congress.

Bolton, a long-time foreign policy hawk who also served in the administration of President George W. Bush, expressed support in his private remarks for Trump’s stance against China on trade, people present said. But Trump and Bolton had a litany of policy differences — on Iran, North Korea, Syria and, apparently, Ukraine.

Bolton told the gathering of Morgan Stanley’s largest hedge fund clients that he was most frustrated with Trump over his handling of Turkey, people who were present said. Noting the broad bipartisan support in Congress to sanction Turkey after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan purchased a Russian missile defense system, Bolton said Trump’s resistance to the move was unreasonable, four people present for his speech said.

Bolton said he believes there is a personal or business relationship dictating Trump’s position on Turkey because none of his advisers are aligned with him on the issue, the people present said.
